TEMECULA – Smoke poured out of a Temecula hotel room in the pre-dawn hours of the morning today (Dec. 23) prompting a response from firefighters. A person reported smelling smoke and hearing a smoke detector at 3:28 a.m. at the Rodeway Inn in the 28000 block of Old Town Front Street, according to April Newman of the Riverside County Fire Department.

Upon arrival, firefighters described seeing smoke emanating from a hotel room on the second story of the building, she said.

The fire burned contents in the room but was prevented from spreading further, Newman said.

No injuries were reported, and the cause of the fire was under investigation.
