‘File of Life’ saves lives in Hemet San Jacinto Valley

File of Life envelopes hung on refrigerator doors and entrance doors to homes and mobile homes have save many lives with information first responders may need during emergency calls. They are available free at Hemet or Menifee Valley Medical Centers. Courtesy photo

The Hemet Fire Department, Riverside County Fire, Cal Fire and American Medical Response paramedics and emergency medical technicians have found a simple way for residents in need of emergency medical treatment to help them in emergency calls. It is called the “File of Life,” which can be magnetically attached on refrigerator doors.

More than 5,000 of these little File of Life envelopes have been distributed to households throughout the Hemet San Jacinto Valley by volunteers from the Healthy Hospital Foundation, Arbor Hospice and Hemet Hospice volunteers and the Hemet and Menifee Valle...
