Man suspected of lighting fire in Temecula home in 'bizarre' incident

Sheriff's deputies took a man into custody Friday, Dec. 29, after he refused to leave a Temecula home and lit a fire inside it, sheriff's officials say.

The incident happened around noon in the 32200 block of Corte Carmona, wrote Riverside County sheriff's Deputy Mike Vasquez in an email.

Vasquez said that deputies had gone to that block to investigate a suspicious circumstance where a man was screaming for help and acting erratic.

When deputies arrived, they learned the man was displaying "bizarre behavior."
