Murrieta police arrest man suspected of selling drugs near Temecula's Great Oak High School

A 24-year-old Temecula man was arrested Wednesday, Jan. 10, after Murrieta officers went to his home and discovered drugs and a handgun, police say.

Evan Mason Brooks was arrested at his Peach Tree Street home, located just behind Great Oak High School, after Murrieta police went there for a probation check, according to a department news release.

Inside the home, the officers found the narcotics, paraphernalia, a handgun and ammunition. The handgun did not belong to Brooks, officials said.

Authorities allege that Brooks became "extremely belligerent" and made threats toward the officers...
