CORONA – A 15-year-old Corona High School student suspected of making threats against his peers was behind bars Friday, Jan. 26, while another student who allegedly circulated a photo of himself toting a gun was under investigation.

According to Corona police, the 15-year-old boy, whose name was withheld, was booked into Riverside Juvenile Hall on Thursday night, Jan. 25 on suspicion of making criminal threats, after he allegedly posted messages online saying he intended to commit an unspecified act of violence at the high school.

No weapons were seized from his family's residence, police said.

The other student, identified only as an 18-year-old, posted pictures of himself at an area shooting range, armed with a weapon, and allegedly captioned the photos with threats that investigators did not disclose.

Detectives later determined the firearm in the young man's possession had been rented at the range, and no weapons were found at his residence.

He has not been arrested, but the investigation is ongoing, according to police.
