MURRIETA – Bands and artists rocked The Bridge Church in Murrieta for a three-part concert event to benefit students at Oak Grove Center, a nonprofit residential and educational facility that aims to help California children with behavior problems and special needs.

Rock the Oaks was held Friday, Jan. 26, and Saturday, Jan. 27. Proceeds from the two-day event will go to benefit the center’s autism and arts programs.

Among the performers will be country-rock band The Ranch Rockers, pianist Kodi Lee, vocalist and performer Marissa Ball and musical theater enthusiast Devynn Owens.

Oak Grove CEO Tammy Wilson said that she, along with the staff at Oak Grove were appreciative of the support they receive from the sponsors, community, performers and guests of the event.

“The support helps fund our Arts Program” Oak Grove CEO Tammy Wilson said. “The arts help provide healing opportunities, team work, character development and instill a love of the arts as well as increase self-esteem for the at-risk and special needs children and youth we serve.”

More than 900 people attended the event, now in its 10th year.

“It has grown every year and we are excited to make new friends as well as seeing many old friends that have developed as artists over the past decade,” Wilson said. “Our youth were incredibly excited to perform this year and felt very happy to be cheered on by supporters, staff and the community. Thank you for supporting our youth and the arts.”
