Bellator 193 took place at Pechanga Resort and Casino this past Friday night, airing live on Paramount Network (previously Spike TV), and much of the excitement focused on the 180lb catchweight bout between ex-welterweight title challenger Lorenz Larkin, and the tough Fernando Gonzalez of Menifee.

Lorenz Larkin (left) was named the winner of this past weekend’s Bellator 193 in the 180lb bout, defeating ‘The Menifee Maniac’, Fernando Gonzalez, by unanimous decision. Andrez Imaging.

Gonzalez, a.k.a. "The Menifee Maniac" won his last two fights, but struggled to make weight for Bellator 193, coming in just over 180lbs. The two fighters went to work early in the main event as Gonzalez went to the body with kicks; Larkin went to the thighs, but the two stood their ground, giving fans the excitement they came for as Larkin and Gonzalez went back and forth in a battle that heated up through the final minute of the fight.

Fighting right to the bell, Larkin hurt Gonzalez with a left, then hit him with a standing elbow that was followed by a barrage of punches that put the fans on their feet. In the end, Lorenz Larkin was named the winner defeating Fernando Gonzalez by unanimous decision (29-28, 30-27, 30-27), snapping a two-fight losing streak. Bellator 194 will take place Friday, Feb. 16, with eight MMA fights at Mohegan Sun Arena in Uncasville, Connecticut. More information can be found online at
