Helpful Honda Guys visit San Jacinto animal shelter

Last updated 3/22/2018 at 9:57am

The Helpful Honda Guys in their blue shirts and sharing big smiles will once again visit the Riverside County Department of Animal Services shelter in San Jacinto to help residents adopt lonely dogs and cats, Saturday, March 24.

The Honda “Paws in Need” helpers will arrive in their blue van 11 a.m. and set up to encourage residents of the Valley to stop by the shelter at 581 Grand Ave. in San Jacinto. The crew urges visitors to look at the dozens of friendly dogs and cats all awaiting a person or special family in their lives they can make happy. They will be there until 3 p.m. handing out leases and water bowls and offer a pet photo booth for families adopting a dog or cat.

Last year the Helpful Honda Guys visiting the San Jacinto Shelter was termed a great success with many pet adoptions.

The shelter is also offering discounts for adoptions during the Helpful Honda Guys visit.

“Over the past seven years the SoCal Honda Dealers have helped over 550 pets find their forever homes. This year, the Guys in Blue aim to help many more dogs and cats in need find a loving home and family,” the car dealer said. “In addition, the Helpful Honda Guys will be doing something else ‘pawsome’ – they will be providing free dog washes, a fun pet-photo booth, complimentary leashes, food bowls and doggy bags to those who visit and adopt. A supplies donation will also be made to each participating local shelter.”

Helpful Honda Pet Adoption partners include Queen’s Best Stumpy Dog Rescue, Love Leo Rescue, German Shepherd Rescue of Orange County, Southern California Bulldog Rescue, I C.A.R.E. Dog Rescue, Los Angeles Animal Services East Valley, Riverside County Department of Animal Services and Ventura County Animal Services.

The San Jacinto shelter offers pet adoptions, owner redemptions, pet relinquishment, stray turn-ins, field services, tags, licensing license inspection, microchipping and humane euthanasia – only for animals that are irremediably suffering as determined by the veterinary staff.

The San Jacinto Riverside County Department of Animal Services shelter is open from Tuesday through Friday, 8 a.m. to 5 p.m .; Saturday, 11 a.m. to 5 p.m .; closed Sundays, Mondays and holidays. The shelter also offers shots, microchipping and other services in the clinic, 8 a.m. to 5 p.m., Tuesday through Friday but is closed during lunch hours, 11 a.m. to 1 p.m. The clinic is closed Saturdays, Sundays, Mondays and holidays.
