The man who was killed in a Temecula area shooting -- which also left another man wounded -- earlier this week has been identified as Jorge Camacho, 37, of Temecula, according to sheriff's officials.

Sheriff's officials found Camacho and the other man suffering from gunshot wounds when they went to the 39000 block of San Ignacio Road in Sage, according to a Riverside County sheriff's news release.

Camacho was pronounced dead at the scene while the other man was taken to the hospital in critical condition. That man remained under medical care Friday, according to an email from a sheriff's spokesman.

The shooting is being investigated by the Sheriff's Central Homicide Unit. Sheriff's officials have remained tight-lipped about the incident, saying very little about what happened.

News reports and footage from the scene showed an SUV with bullet holes in the area of the investigation.

No arrests have been made in connection with the incident, officials say.

The sheriff's department is asking anyone with information regarding this incident to contact investigators at 951-696-3000, or at 951-955-2777.
