1 killed, 1 injured in Lake Elsinore collision

A 33-year-old Lake Elsinore man was killed and another person was injured Thursday in a two-vehicle collision in Lake Elsinore, sheriff's officials say.

The incident happened about 9:11 a.m. in the area of Riverside Drive and Strickland Avenue and involved a Toyota SUV and a Chevy sedan -- both with single occupants -- that had collided, according to a Riverside County sheriff's news release.

The driver of the sedan died at the scene while the driver of the Toyota was hospitalized for non-life-threatening injuries, according to the release.

Sheriff's officials say alcohol does not appear to be a factor in the collision.

Officials asked anyone who may have information to call the Lake Elsinore Police Department at (951) 245-3300.

One person was killed and another was injured in traffic collision in Lake Elsinore on Thursday.

The two-vehicle collision was reported about 9:17 a.m. in the area of Riverside Drive and Gunnerson Street, according to a Cal Fire/Riverside County Fire Department news release.

Firefighters arrived to find that two people were injuredand that one of those people was trapped, according to the release.

One of the two people died at the scene of the crash while another was taken to the hospital with serious injuries.
