Golden Village Palms RV Resort's winter visitors donate $16,978 to Hemet Police K-9 Unit

Hemet Police K-9 handler Andrew Reynosa with K-9 "Duke" assures children that Duke loves children and likes to be petted even though he is a police dog. Reynosa and Duke received a large monetary donation for the departments K-9 unit at Golden Village Palms RV Resort, March 15.

The many winter visitors, or "snowbirds" as they are affectionately called by Hemet residents, at the Golden Village Palms RV Resort gathered up $16,978.73 to donate to the Hemet Police Department K-9 unit before returning home recently.

The gift, gratefully accepted Thursday, March 15, by Hemet Police K-9 handler Andrew Reynoso and his partner, K-9 "Duke," a Belgian malinois, came with the city and police department's thanks. The Golden Village's dining hall was filled with many residents, who since arriving at the resort in October, have collected the large donation by holding potlucks,...
