Temecula council approves funding for crosswalk project

The Temecula City Council cautiously approved funding for the construction of a high visibility crosswalk on Deer Hollow Way in hopes of increasing traffic safety and curbing incidences of jaywalking near Great Oak High School but left it up to the city’s Public/Traffic Safety Commission to make sure a crosswalk was the best option.

The acceleration of $100,000-worth of funds for the crosswalk was unanimously approved during the council’s March 13 meeting. The crosswalk would be constructed on Deer Hollow Way between the high school and an adjacent entrance to the Patricia H. Birdsall...
