Spike in county juvenile drowning deaths prompts public education initiative

RIVERSIDE – A spike in juvenile drowning deaths – with four occurring since the start of the year – led county health officials to issue a warning to residents to take precautions when youngsters are around water.

The four deaths occurring in the first two and one-half months of 2018 equals Riverside County’s juvenile drowning total for all of 2017, according to the Riverside University Health System-Public Health.
