Last updated 4/12/2018 at 2:59am

TEDxTemecula is seeking speakers for their seventh annual event, which will be held Sept. 29. Applications are available until June 30.

TED is an acronym for Technology, Entertainment and Design and stands for an event that has consistently brought an audience of approximately 350 community members and an even larger online audience over the years on topics such as travel, art, life-changing “aha” moments and more. No public speaking experience is needed.

The TEDx Temecula team will help their speakers hone and craft their speech, while working with a team of dedicated volunteers, speaker coaches and with the other speakers.

TEDx Temecula past speakers has been professors, executives, farmers, a chef, scientists, teens and many others.

“I think everyone wants to leave an imprint on the world,” event coordinator Jim McClauglin said. “One way to do that is to foster and nurture an idea to fruition, and then to share that idea in a way that impacts others in a positive way. TEDxTemecula is a platform for doing just that.”

Applications to speak can be found online at and includes creating a two-minute video about a speech topic. The selection team looks for the core idea in each video and focuses on the speaker being genuine and enthusiastic over their public speaking ability or video production. The TEDx Temecula team will interview selected applicants and make selections throughout the year. For more information, email [email protected]
