Mt. San Jacinto College to host suicide awareness exhibit

Last updated 4/20/2018 at 9:54am

Mt. San Jacinto College will be hosting a traveling exhibit designed to raise suicide awareness and prevention on April 26.

Send Silence Packing, hosted by MSJC Active Minds and sponsored by Riverside University Health System, is a nationally recognized traveling exhibition of donated backpacks representing college students lost to suicide each year.

The program is designed to raise awareness about the incidence and impact of suicide, connect students to needed mental health resources, and inspire action for suicide prevention.

At each exhibit of Send Silence Packing, backpacks are displayed in a high-traffic area of campus, giving a visual representation of the scope of the problem and the number of victims.

This event is free and open to the public.
