Hemet's Measure U added police, helps to reduce city crime rates

Hemet Police Chief Rob Webb outlines the department's progress in the Measure U Police Action plan to the Hemet City Council Tuesday, April 10.

The hiring of 17 sworn police officers and two dispatchers during the past year by the Hemet Police Department is beginning to show a significant drop in crimes in the city, according to Hemet Police Chief Rob Webb in a report to the Hemet City Council Tuesday, April 10.

Webb and Sgt. Randy Young in presenting the Community Policing Update and Measure U implementation action plan showed how the additional staffing and the Central Post Release Accountability and Compliance Team is dropping the city crime rate, particularly the city's criminal homeless influx.
