Wildomar's 'star party' to offer presentation, raffle for budding astronomers

A meteor shoots through the sky during the yearly Lyrid meteor shower. Guests at the Saturday, April 21, Astronomy Night in Wildomar may be able to see meteors during the event if weather conditions are favorable.

Members of the public will visit Marna O'Brien Park in Wildomar later this month in hopes of seeing great views of the moon, planets and star clusters, and to learn about those things as well.

Astronomy Night, also called a "star party," will be taking place from 6-9 p.m. Saturday, April 21, and visitors will be treated to a presentation by members of the Temecula Valley Astronomers before being able to use some of the club members' telescopes to look for such things as planets, constellations and star clusters, according to the club's past president John Garrett.
