Warm temperatures and a slight breeze were the perfect backdrop for the inaugural Temecula Blues Festival held in Old Town Temecula, Saturday, April 21.

Blues lovers from throughout the region converged upon the lawn at Temecula's Civic Center Plaza to immerse themselves in blues culture featuring nearly a dozen blues performers, including a showstopper from national recording artist Tad Robinson, well-known for his velvety voice and cool stylings, who headlined the eight-band bill.

Other performers included San Diego-based guitar ace, Stoney B. Blues Band; highly-regarded South Bay vocalist, Shari Puorto Band; blues harmonica at its best from The Honey Lickers; Chris Fast Band; Bill Magee Blues Band; Cash N Freedman and JD Priest Band.

Blues fans dance and enjoy the live performances during the Temecula Blues Festival, April 21.

In addition to great music, there were food vendors including Rene's Cowgirl Cantina; Rosati's Authentic Chicago Pizza; Laurent's Cafe; Devilicious Cafe; Rock N' Jenny's Italian Subs; Bad To The Bone BBQ; The Bridge at 3rd Fish N Chips and The Bank.

A blues village, complete with blues and music-oriented merchandise, allowed die-hard fans to get their fix of blues related items, completing the overall blues experience

For event organizer and Old Town Blues Club Owner Andy Doty, the event was not just a successful one, but one that brought his passion for music to the masses in the form of a sold-out festival enjoyed by all in attendance.

"We are bringing the blues to the burbs," he said.

The second annual Temecula Blues Festival is now in its planning stages, according to event publicist Doug Deutsch.
