Lake Elsinore brush fire chars 73 acres, reaches full containment

LAKE ELSINORE - A wind-fueled brush fire that grew to 73 acres in Lake Elsinore Saturday, April 28, has been fully contained, firefighters said.

The hillside fire was reported at 2:26 p.m. next to the southbound side of Interstate 15 near Main Street, where flames reached a height of 7 feet, Tawny Cabral of the Riverside County Fire Department said.

The fire was burning in a grassy field and spreading at a moderate speed, according to Cabral.

No structures were threatened and no injuries were reported.
