Oak Grove Center's 14th annual gala and auction event "Evening Under the Oaks" broke records in fundraising for the second year in a row raising $110,000 for the 24-hour treatment center for at-risk and special needs youth.

"The generosity of the sponsors, supporters and philanthropists that attended is tremendously appreciated. Funds raised are helping us with our Baseball Field addition, Autism Program Camp, Dance as well as sending youth to Bojuum Outdoor adventure for a one night and three-day experience," Tammy Wilson, CEO of Oak Grove Center, said.

This year's annual gala and silent auction which was held Saturday, April 28, at the center's main campus in Murrieta, featured an evening filled with entertainment, including performances by Oak Grove youth, food from local restaurants and eateries and award-winning wine and beer.

Attendance topped 500 guests for the event which was presented in part by Shamrock Foods.

"Evening Under the Oaks" highlights the transformation at Oak Grove Center's facility. As festivities began, guests were greeted with a welcome toast courtesy of this year's wine sponsor, Ponte Winery, and were able to bid on silent auction items, including memorabilia and extravagant baskets.

Guests enjoyed beer from Ballast Point of Temecula, the beer sponsor for the second consecutive year and delicious food offerings provided by Smokey Mountain Catering, Pala Casino Resort and Spa, The Shamrock Irish Pub and Eatery, Bamboo House Asian Bistro, Eating off the Vine, Maria's Street Tacos, Rustico's, Lazy Dog Cafe and Cruz Tacos.

Students stole the show at this year's "Evening Under the Oaks," greeting guests then wowing them with their outstanding performances.

"Our youth performed, greeted and interacted with guests," Wilson said. "They told us how amazed they were that 'people cared.' We are fortunate to be part of a community that does care and helps with those less fortunate."

Guests took part in some furious bidding during the live auction, which included getaways and unique experiences such as a South African safari trip, vacation stays in Hawaii and Cabo San Lucas as well as a beach getaway and other exciting trips.

Oak Grove Center's mission is to rebuild the lives of at-risk children and their families through educating, healing, restoring relationships, building character and instilling hope.

"The impact of the funds raised, but more importantly community connections will make a tremendous difference in their lives," Wilson explained as she extolled her appreciation for all who made the event a successful one. "Thank you!"
