Hemet Community Pantry sees upgrades in Columbia Street facility

Hemet Community Pantry at its new location behind the Trinity Lutheran Church at 191 Columbia St. in Hemet serves emergency food and offers other services to needy families and the homeless in the Hemet San Jacinto Valley.

The new location of the Hemet Community Pantry is bringing not only better conditions for food storage, the staff and volunteers but also more food and other items to the more than 450 needy families it serves each month.

Hemet Food Pantry Director Jim Lineberger said the move to the 5,544-square-foot, former school building behind the Trinity Lutheran Church at 191 Columbia St. is providing better client services but has brought other unexpected difficulties and costs.
