New nonprofit seeks to assist veterans' caregivers

Lake Riverside residents Krystle Hamlett and her disabled veteran husband Sgt. William Hamlett have created a nonprofit organization to assist caregivers and give insight to this oftentimes difficult labor of love. The Caregiver Healing Foundation is off and running, assisting the military care providers.

"Our mission is to provide family support to military and veteran caregivers that are more often than not spouses," Krystle Hamlett said. "Military and veteran caregivers often live with their veteran and rarely take time for themselves."
