Last updated 5/25/2018 at 11:33am

Rumors that have been circulating about an alleged threat at Temecula Valley High School are not credible, School District officials said in a statement last night.

"There are currently unsubstantiated rumors circulating about a school threat at TVHS tomorrow, Friday, May 25," says a statement on the school's website. "Temecula Police have investigated the matter and have confirmed there is no credible threat and that the rumors are false and completely unsubstantiated."

School district officials have not clarified the nature of the rumors or what the alleged threat may have specified.

"As always, the safety and security of our campus is a top priority," the statement says. "If we had any valid concerns regarding the current rumors, we would openly share that with you."

As a precaution, additional police resources were stationed at the school campus Friday.
