Hamilton High School's Alexia Delgadillo sweeps long distance runs at Gilbert Invitational

Hamilton High School students Alexia Delgadillo and Noland Grant pet the school's Bobcat mascot after taking high places in the Dennis Gilbert Small Schools Invitational track and field event at Mountain Empire High School, Friday, April 17. Delgadillo, in addition to her track and field victories, will become the school's Associated Student Body president next year.

Hamilton High School's up-and-coming track star, Alexia Delgadillo, continues her conquest by sweeping the long-distance women's 800 and 1,600-meter races in the Dennis Gilbert Small Schools Invitational Friday, April 27.

"She is the most talented and finest runner we've had at Hamilton High School," track coach Patrick McGowan said Thursday, May 17, at the school. "She is a really good student."

He also praised senior Nolan Grant who with a huge 38-foot, 3 1/2-inch heave came in second in the men's 12- pound shot put event at the invitational.
