A 35-year-old Menifee man was shot and killed outside a Wildomar pizza parlor on Sunday, June 3, and a suspect was arrested in his death, authorities said Monday.

Paul Henry Carl Stoeppler, 34, of Murrieta was arrested Sunday on suspicion of murder in the shooting death of 35-year-old Mark Corona and booked into the Cois M. Byrd Detention Center in French Valley. He remained there Monday with no bail set.

According to a Riverside County sheriff’s news release, deputies were sent to a report of shots fired in a shopping center in the 32200 block of Clinton Keith Road -- where the Wildomar Stadium Pizza is located -- and found Corona dead inside a vehicle after he suffered several gunshot wounds.

Homicide investigators took over the incident and interviewed witnesses in the shopping center. Online jail records show that Stoeppler was arrested on Clinton Keith Road but it’s unclear whether he was at the shopping center or elsewhere along that road.

Sheriff’s officials have released no other details about the incident.

The sheriff’s department was asking anyone with information about the shooting to contact investigators at the Lake Elsinore Sheriff Station at 951-245-33000 or investigators at the Central Homicide Unit at 951-955-2777.
