Republican assemblyman to face democrat in November in state Assembly race

PALM SPRINGS – Former Assembly Minority Leader Chad Mayes, who was ousted from the leadership position after supporting environmental policies opposed by fellow conservatives, will advance to the November runoff in his bid for re-election.

Mayes will be taking on a democrat, Hemet attorney DeniAntoinette Mazingo, for the right to represent the 42nd Assembly District.
