Wine Country's 50th anniversary celebrated, pioneers honored at Wilson Creek Winery

Wilson Creek Winery held a special event Friday, June 8, to honor the 50th anniversary of Temecula Valley Wine Country.

Supervisor Chuck Washington, state Sen. Jeff Stone, Temecula Valley Winegrowers Association President Danny Martin and wine country pioneer Phil Baily were among guests at the event.

Baily led the discussion by sharing the story of the ever-growing Temecula wine country. He said there were many other pioneers such as Audrey Cilurzo, who planted the first commercial vineyard in Temecula in 1968, and Elle Callaway, who started the first commercial winery in Temecula in the...
