Last updated 6/20/2018 at 5:09pm

The Splashing Eagle Waterpark opened Memorial Day weekend kicking off the summer holiday season at Lake Hemet in the San Jacinto Mountains above the Valley.

Cooler water did not deter the campers and visitors that gathered at the Lake’s campgrounds and picnic areas for a weekend of fun.

Visitors to the lake can don their swimsuits, grab the children by the hand, and walk into the waterpark to jump, play and splash the day away at the park in a designated swim cove off Highway 74 east of Mountain Center. The swim park that is now open Thursday through Monday from 11 a.m. to 6 p.m.
