Second 'balanced' Hemet city 2018-2019 budget proposes job freeze, other savings without Measure U funds

Hemet City Manager Alan Parker presents a second proposed 2018-2019 fiscal year general budget option to the city council at the June 20 budget workshop.

Hemet City Manager Alan Parker and his staff presented the Hemet City Council with a second option to the proposed 2018-2019 fiscal year general fund budget that does not use Measure U sales tax revenues in a Wednesday, June 20, budget workshop.

The second option, or Budget B, may require a citywide job freeze and departmental cutbacks to keep a balanced budget for the 2018-2019 fiscal year.

The presentation requested by the five-member council provides more department by department detail of proposed revenues and expenditures then the initial proposed budget called "Budget A."
