Hemet City Council approves 2018-2019 general fund budget without using extra Measure U money

Hemet City Council approved the proposed 2018-2019 fiscal year general fund budget in its Tuesday, June 26, council meeting, choosing not to use almost $2 million in unexpected sales tax revenues from Measure U during the last fiscal year.

The 3-2 council decision came following three different 2018-2019 fiscal year proposed budgets offered by City Manager Alan Parker and Finance Director Lorena Rocha, each balancing estimated revenues and expenditures and not drawing upon the city’s reserves as in past years.
