HEMET — Three people were shot in Hemet in broad daylight Saturday, and police today were looking for a suspect.

A 911 caller reported the shooting at 2:38 p.m. Saturday in the 100 block of South Franklin Street, just off of East Florida Avenue, said Hemet police Lieutenant Jeff Davis.

First responders found three gunshot victims at the scene and took them to a hospital, Davis said.

Two of the victims remained in critical condition while the third was released from the hospital after receiving medical treatment, he said.

Police did not release a suspect description or motive and said the investigation was ongoing.

Officers asked anyone with information about the shooting to contact Hemet police Detective Matthew Gomez at (951) 765-2422.
