Pechanga Resort & Casino puts fountain coins to use, helps start food pantry

Take a trip to a shopping mall, an upscale hotel or casino and you might find a fountain filled with coins from people making wishes.

Pechanga Resort & Casino recently took the many coins from its fountains and put them toward a good cause: The establishment of a food pantry in Lake Elsinore.

Pechanga worked with Feeding America Inland Empire and the Elsinore Women's Club recently to provide a food pantry for families of Elsinore Elementary School.

The impetus for creating a food pantry had to do with the school's location – what Pechanga officials described as a "food desert."
