Hemet City Council looking at a community cannabis initiative on the November ballot

Hemet City Attorney Eric Vail explains in a July 10 workshop the details of two private initiatives on permitting cannabis cultivation in the city that may be on the November ballot.

The Hemet City Council faced with two private initiatives, one qualified and the other pending from opposing commercial marijuana corporations wanting to do business in the city, may be forced to present their own initiative on the matter in the November election.

Hemet City Attorney Eric Vail Tuesday evening, July 10, presented the city council with the initiative issues, that if qualified and approved by the courts, will appear on the November ballot for local voters to decide whether to allow or prohibit commercial medical and recreational marijuana grows in the community.
