Man suspected in Murrieta armed robbery arrested

Marcos Antonio Hernandez, a 21-year-old Perris resident, and documented criminal street gang member was arrested on July 13 and charged with second-degree robbery in connection with an armed robbery at a Murrieta business on June 29.

Murrieta-Temecula Regional Gang Task Force with assistance from Region 6 Gang Task Force, RSO Perris Station Investigators, a Temecula POP Team Officer, and Murrieta Police Officers served a search warrant in Perris on July 13.

According to a press release distributed on Thursday, officers located evidence at Hernandez' residence related to the Murrieta robbery and he was taken into custody without incident and booked into Cois Byrd Detention Center.

Initially handled by Murrieta Police Department, Hernandez is alleged to have been armed with a handgun when he stole cash and lottery tickets from the clerk.
