TEMECULA – The city of Temecula will host a “Senior Scam Stopper” event in conjunction with state Sen. Jeff Stone’s office this month.

The free event will take place from 10 a.m. to noon Friday, July 27, at the Mary Phillips Senior Center in Temecula.

One in five seniors have been a victim of fraud, and seniors are the most-targeted group for fraudulent activities, according to Stone’s office.

A panel of experts will be at the event to provide information to seniors on how to protect themselves from becoming victims of fraud. Attendees can also get assistance if they’ve already become fraud victims.

“Learn how to protect yourself,” Stone’s office said.

WhichWich Sandwiches will provide food after the event.

Anyone requesting additional information was asked to contact Stone’s office at (951) 894-3530 or (951) 894-3530 or email at [email protected]
