F45 fitness facility hits Temecula, Australian based company brings motivation, innovation and results

Last updated 7/18/2018 at 9:02pm

F45 offers customized training systems with unique circuit movement patterns and over 1,000 exercises in addition to workouts that change every day.

It was almost a year ago to the day that Temecula's Eva Ebersole received her ISSA personal training certificate and sought out to help others with their training needs. Eva, who originally hails from England, has raised two sons, Ben, a senior at the University of San Diego, and Sam, a senior at Chaparral High School, while living here in the valley with her husband Phil, and has been a fitness fanatic for as long as she can remember. During most days she helps run her husband's medical office in Murrieta, but recently, due to an ad on Facebook, Eva has brought another business to the family, one that has their full support when it comes to helping others in a different, more fast-paced, heart pumping way.

"I have always wanted to help others reach their fitness goals and had originally set out to perhaps join up with a local gym and lend my personal training expertise there, but I was really struggling with wanting to work for someone else, knowing I could do this myself," says Ebersole. "One day last year I was on Facebook and saw this advertisement for an Australian based gym that was reporting massive interest and growing at an alarming rate, and seriously it was like a higher power was speaking to me, so I went all-in."

The ad Eva saw was for F45 Training, which is a team-based, functional training facility that places a huge emphasis on the 'three key factors' of motivation, innovation and results. Combining the industry trends of group training and functional fitness, F45 delivers premium team training in a boutique studio environment.

At F45 (the F stands for functional), no program is ever repeated, making every workout a unique experience. The creators describe each studio as an "ecosystem that develops incredible physiques and strong camaraderie," thanks in part to initiatives like the live DJ sets on Saturdays.

Ebersole hit the ground running as she sought out a prime location as well as a staff that shared her same enthusiasm for helping others and who wanted to take a chance on this unique new opportunity. Almost a year after seeing that first advertisement on Facebook, Eva and her staff opened the doors to their new facility Saturday, July 14, located just outside the Promenade Mall and hailed quite the response from the local community.

"We needed something like this in the valley, said Andrea Johnson of Murrieta. "It is very convenient for many of us who are on the go. We can come get a high intensity workout in a comfortable environment and then be on our way to the next thing."

F45 offers 10 customized training systems, 10 unique circuit movement patterns, 15 different timing modules, over 1,000 exercises, and workouts that change every day. The aim is that clients remain motivated and challenged, and hence achieve great results. The workouts feature no power lifting or technical lifting, and the facilities are highly systemized, feature integrated technology in the form of video workout demonstrations and strive to be female-friendly – some of the reasons the membership of the facilities is 70 percent females and 30 percent males.

From the early morning classes, to the live DJ, the fitness challenges and the raffles that took place all day, the grand opening of F45 in Temecula was more like a party then just your everyday run of the mill ribbon cutting ceremony. DJ Johnny Herrera hosted the event that featured quite a few local businesses who were on hand to help welcome guests, which included Nutrishop of Temecula as they handed out recovery drinks and Frost and Float was a huge hit as owner Jenna Kelleher got everyone to try a free cryotherapy session, even the new F45 owner.

The system must be working, because F45 is the fastest growing network of fitness studios in Australia, with 40 studios currently open all over the country (due to be 65 by the end of this year), and another 40 licenses sold. Its ambitions aren't restricted to these shores though, with studios already open in New Zealand and plans underway to launch in India, Asia, the U.S. and the UK.

F45 owner Eva Ebersole cuts the Temecula Valley Chamber of Commerce ribbon with her staff at their grand opening Saturday, July 14.

"This is the first type of high technology workout system in the Temecula valley, using high definition LCD TV's with avatars for following the workout exercises, Lion Heart rate monitors so you can see your heart rate on the TV screen and two personal trainers to each class in a group setting," added Ebersole. "We are really creating our own family community environment and want to share it with everyone."

While some group training models shy away from the term, the creators of F45 proudly declare it to be a cult that must be experienced to be believed. Along with the growing band of devotees, celebrities including Ricky Martin, Joel Madden and Nicole Richie have also taken them up on their offer.

F45's Temecula location can be found at 41493 Margarita Road, Suite G101. To find out more information about classes and pricing visit them online at or by calling (951) 365-4879. For details on current specials, or just to see all the fun they are having, visit their Facebook page at
