Local extra-virgin olive oil receives awards

SAGE, Calif. – Macala Orchards are located in Sage, California, where they grow primarily olives, pomegranates and guavas. This spring they received gold medals from the Orange Country Fair for two of their 2017 harvest extra virgin olive oils that they press in-house. Both their single varietal Itrana extra-virgin olive oil and their Sicilian blend extra-virgin olive oil received the honor. They also received a silver medal from the California Olive Oil Council for their Sicilian blend.

Magnifico! And Bravo too, for this brilliantly inspired business, bringing the healthy and wonderfully palatable gastronomic magic of Olive Oils to our local valleys. Olive Oils are said to be the main reason for the health-related fame of the Mediterranean diet. Nice to know that a diet with ingredients that taste so darned good are also so extremely good for you.
