Sundays in the Square, Temecula's new concert series, will kick off Sunday, Aug. 5.

As summer comes to a close, city officials in Temecula will present a new, family friendly concert series at Town Square Park in Old Town, Sundays in the Square.

Sundays in the Square will be held in addition to Thursday night concerts at the CRC Amphitheatre and Friday night movies in the park. The event, which runs from 4-6 p.m. for two weeks, Aug. 5 and Aug. 12, will feature live music, food vendors and outdoor activities.

The featured band Aug. 5 will be Crimson Crow. The modern rock and dance band delivers a stellar performance of music from the 60s to present and is sure to bring concert goers to their feet.

On the second Sunday in the Square, Aug. 12, the featured band will be the Frienz Band who will perform smooth jazz and rhythm and blues.

Community Services Superintendent, Beatriz Barnett said arts and entertainment are fundamental components of a healthy community and that's why she and her team are dedicated to creating safe, vibrant and family-friendly events for residents and visitors of Temecula Valley.

Concerts will be held at the Civic Center Quad, 41000 Main St. in Old Town Temecula.
