Man offers $1,000 reward for return of stolen cow

The stolen Jersey cow pictured earlier this spring with her two young calves, now six months old.

Cattle rustling has been a hanging offense in the West in days gone by. Today, however, it is merely a case of grand theft, punishable by fines or jail time. But this does not make the crime any easier to bear for the victims losing their very livelihood when cows come up missing.

Such was the case in the early evening hours of Friday, July 13, in the Anza Valley. 

A Jersey dairy cow, mother to two weaned calves, came up missing, the result of a brazen theft that took place at the Sage Mountain Farm located on Bahrman Road, right across from the Pizza Factory in Anza.
