Self-proclaimed smallest winery in Temecula stays on its path

Deane Foote stands in front of dozens of stacked barrels of Foot Path Winery wines that are aging ahead of bottling.

Deane Foote sits behind the bar of his Temecula Wine Country establishment, inside the 40-year-old metal barn he acquired when he bought the property.

Backed by wine barrels stacked to the ceiling with batches of Cabernet, Barbera, Syrah and others inside of them, he loves to talk about wine, specifically the wine he makes, with anyone who comes to visit him.

"(Visitors) get a totally unique experience because I am always in the winery, always pouring the wine," Foote said. "We don't have any employees, whatsoever. People get me and get to see my smiling face."
