Murrieta honors retiring city planner

Murrieta City Planner Cynthia Kinser is retiring, and the city council paid her tribute with a presentation at their July 17 meeting.

Kinser’s career in public service began in high school, when she helped draft plans for a local water district.

After graduating from Cal Poly Pomona with a degree in urban planning and development, she went to work for the city of Rancho Cucamonga.

Over the years, she moved from Rancho Cucamonga, to Moreno Valley, to Cathedral City, then back to Moreno Valley, working her way up from planning technician to a full-fledged city planner.
