Hemet Council still deciding whether to place a city marijuana initiative on the ballot

The Hemet City Council, staring down a ballot initiative that could allow marijuana businesses in the city, is still considering whether to place their own counter-initiative on the November ballot.

The council is calling for a special session Tuesday, Aug. 7, to determine if they want to put forth their own initiative recommended by the city attorney and manager, or to forgo it and see what the voters might have to say. The council initially was to make that decision at the Tuesday, July 24, regular council meet.
