HUSD summer school learning programs increase credit recovery for high school students

The Hemet Unified School District governing board had some good news, but for the 1,695 students who attended summer school it was even better news, with many now able to graduate with their classmates.

The HUSD board received a good report from Nereyda Gonzales, director of the district’s credit recovery program, July 17, which helps high school students make up the missing credits needed for their graduation. The update on the program showed that 1,696 students from the district’s four high schools enrolled in this year’s summer school, up from the 1,246 that enrolled in 2017.
