UPDATED: Terra Fire reaches full containment

UPDATE: Aug. 7, 12:50 a.m.

The Terra Fire, first reported shortly after 2 p.m. Monday in the 24800 Block of Terramor and Temescal Canyon roads, just southwest of Lake Mathews, was fully contained just after midnight, according to an incident report issued by Cal Fire/Riverside County Fire Department.

The blaze charred 35 acres before being contained by firefighters at 12:10 a.m.

With the help of air tankers and water-dropping helicopters from Hemet-Ryan Airport, the fire's forward rate of spread was halted by 4 p.m., and the blaze was 75 percent contained by 6 p.m., according to reports from the scene.

A fire captain fell ill from heat exhaustion and was taken to Corona Regional Medical Center for treatment. He was in stable condition and not expected to remain hospitalized overnight, according to a battalion chief on-site.

Eight engine companies, two overhead personnel and four fire crews battled the blaze.

According to an incident report by the Cal Fire/Riverside County Fire Department, the Terra Fire is now at 35 acres and 75 percent contained.

The forward rate of spread has been stopped in a 30-acre blaze first reported shortly after 2 p.m. today in the 24800 Block of Terramor and Temescal Canyon roads, just southwest of Lake Mathews, according to fire officials.

ORIGINAL STORY:

Riverside County Fire Department crews, along with Corona Fire Department personnel, are battling a 30-acre blaze burning in the 24800 Block of Terramor and Temescal Canyon roads, just southwest of Lake Mathews.

The fire was first reported at 2:19 p.m., Monday, Aug. 6, and is burning in "light, flashy fuels," according to a Cal Fire/Riverside County Fire Department incident report.

The brusher is not threatening any homes at this time.

Currently eight engine companies, two overhead personnel and four fire crews are battling the blaze.
