Here's why the new Clinton Keith Road extension doesn't appear to have a speed limit

The Clinton Keith Road extension from Murrieta into French Valley opened last week, but drivers may notice that there are no speed limit signs anywhere on the new stretch of road.

That’s because traffic engineers have yet to conduct a speed survey on the road to determine where to set the speed limit.

Murrieta police Lt. Ron Driscoll said that speed survey won’t be conducted until after Murrieta students head back to school Aug. 15, so that engineers can get a more accurate picture of traffic patterns at peak congestion.
