Homes For Our Troops welcomes the Granshen family

Marine Lance Cpl. Matthew Grashen greets his new neighbors at the key ceremony for his newly donated and custom built home from Home For Our Troops, Aug. 5.

Placed near the vineyards on Pauba Road, Homes For Our Troops held a key ceremony for the Granshen family at the location of their new home, Aug. 5.

The national nonprofit organization, Homes For Our Troops, awarded Marine Lance Cpl. Matthew Grashen a specially adapted custom home.

Grashen was severely injured while serving in Afghanistan, Aug. 1, 2013. Serving as a rifleman with Fox Company, 2nd Battalion, 2nd Marines, while on his first deployment, Grashen stepped on an improvised explosive device while on a foot patrol in Helmand Province, Afghanistan.
