'True Willie,' the Willie Nelson tribute band, performs at the Santa Rosa Plateau Ecological Reserve

Roger Hegyi, in tribute the true Willie Nelson of country and folk music fame, sings on the outdoor stage of the Santa Rosa Plateau Ecological Reserve, Aug. 11, concluding the 2018 Santa Rosa Plateau Nature Education Foundation's Summer Concert series to benefit the reserve.

If concert goers at the Santa Rosa Plateau Ecological Center in Murrieta closed their eyes Saturday, Aug. 11, they might have been fooled into thinking the laid back whine and smooth rhythm coming from the stage was that of the one and only Willie Nelson. While the voice was compelling them to believe one thing, their eyes told them another. The performer was really Roger Hegyi with the True Willie band, a familiar face at the Plateau.

Hegyi, with his red bandana, old autographed guitar and scraggly beard, from a distance could pass as the true Willie, singing some of Nelson's favorite tune...
