Last updated 8/22/2018 at 3:25pm

A residential structure fire reported in the 4200 block of Wildwood Lane in Aguanga Tuesday, Aug. 14, is contained in less than an hour.

A swamp cooler in flames and a resulting residential structure fire was reported at the 42000 block of Wildwood Lane in Aguanga at 12:08 a.m., Tuesday, Aug. 14.

The first arriving units discovered fire and smoke on the east side of the home.

It took firefighters just under an hour to put out the blaze, which blackened the swamp cooler unit and minor portions of the home's ceiling.

According to a witness, "My friend James called me around 12:20 a.m. and said his uncle saw a glow outside. He went to check it out and saw the flames. The uncle called James who is in Orange County and told him he saw flames next door. James called me and asked me to call the fire department. His uncle doesn't speak English."

By the time the 911 call was made, resources were already responding to the blaze. Total containment was reached at 12:52 a.m.

An investigation as to the cause of the blaze is ongoing, but according to the Riverside County Fire Department Information Center, the fire started at the evaporative cooler in the home.

No evacuations were required, and no injuries were reported.

The Riverside County Fire Department deployed one water tender, four engines, one battalion chief and one medic squad.
