Murrieta City Council draws 7 candidates for 3 opening seats in Nov. 6 elections

Murrieta City Council has seven candidates vying for three open seats in the upcoming Nov. 6 general election with one incumbent running in District 1 and two councilmembers from Districts 2 and 5 leaving their posts, according to the latest information from the Murrieta City Clerk’s office.

This year’s election will begin the city council’s transition from at-large elected offices to by-district elections.

District 1 incumbent and current Mayor Jonathan Ingram is seeking re-election against challenger Stephen Espinosa.
