RIVERSIDE - A motorist was injured today in a collision between a charter bus and a pickup truck in west Riverside.

The crash happened shortly after 9 a.m. on the eastbound Riverside (91) Freeway, near Madison Street, according to the California Highway Patrol.

The bus and the white Toyota Tundra collided in the No. 2 lane, causing the smaller vehicle to roll onto its side, the CHP reported.

All eastbound lanes were temporarily blocked. A SigAlert was issued at 9:15 a.m. because of the traffic jam.

None of the passengers aboard the bus were injured. However, the pickup driver suffered moderate injuries and was taken to Riverside Community Hospital for treatment.

By 11 a.m., two of four eastbound lanes were open, with all lanes expected to be available by noon, according to the CHP.

The cause of the collision was under investigation.
